Dr Alfred Russel Wallace

Dear Sir

The enclosed booklet is of no particular interest & much the same record might be written of any Parish.

It is just a framework[?] or pioneer of others, which I hope to circulate in the Danish, to try & educate, both the rich & poor to see things rightly, (as I think).

[2] [MS damaged] have distributed & lent your 'hand book' wherever & whenever I could, & for many years I have read & admired your books. Who indeed can do other than admire your Amazon & Pacific Islands intensely interesting records.

I always get praise for lending these two books.

But I want to ask you this — Do you mind sending me a post card.?

I have wished to ask you for an autograph for a [3] long time, but have hated to bother you. It helps me to Enjoy an authors books I think, if one has seen him, or possesses his autograph.

I won't weary you further for I am sure you will oblige if you can. And will you please believe me to be

Ever yours | Very Sincerely | Edwin A. Harris [signature]
