Dr. Alfred R. Wallace
My dear Sir
I cannot sufficiently thank you for your kind gift — it is indeed a deep pleasure to me to receive it. A pleasure that will last, truly, for ever!
Yes! dear sir, I will ask[2] several friends to look at y[ou]r[?] kind gift, for there is a true note of thanksgiving on the [one word illeg.] of many for [one word illeg.] "God-given utterance"in Daily News.
A note of triumph went through one of the sermons at Church on Sunday when preaching from the text "She sitteth between two cherubim" your[3] D. N. interview was mentioned. A leading medical man yesterday spoke most gratefully of " Dr. Alfred R. Wallace's so[?] reassuring[?] testimony &tc".
Thank you dear sir I should indeed like to call upon you! We had hoped for New Forest this summer but the continued rain has[4] kept us at home, as my sister who lives with me suffers from rheumatism.
I hope, dear sir, you may hear from some who are [one word illeg.] to you.
Believe me | yrs. ever gratefully and respectfully | Sarah a Sewall[?] [signature]2
