Frith Hill, Godalming 2

June 5th. 1888

Dear Sir

Thanks for your note. There is a summary of what is known on Geology of Madagascar in Captain Oliver’s "Madagascar" (1886) and I do not suppose in such a large and difficult country much important work can have been done since. The main features seem sufficiently known for the purposes of Geog[raphy?]. Distribution.

Yours faithfully | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
