I send you 3 more Photos of vegetation I have just received from Para, which will serve to illustrate Spruce's4 book.

As I have now got the first proofs, I should like to have, as soon as possible, [2] rough prints of all the illustration you have decided to use, so that I can see where they will best come, and, if necessary, add a few words of explanation in the text.

In the upper right corner above the text "Wimborne" is "90" written in pencil in a different hand. Additionally, above "Mess.rs" is a purple oval stamp that reads "G.B.M."
Macmillan Publishers Ltd., founded by Scottish publishers Daniel Macmillan (1813-1857) and Alexander Macmillan (3 October 1818 — 26 January 1896) in 1843.
Next to this text is a stamp that reads "28 FEB 1908" followed by "794" written in orange in a different hand.
Richard Spruce (10 September 1817 — 28 December 1893), English botanist.
To the left of Wallace's signature is a red stamp of a crown, surrounded by the words "BRITISH LIBRARY," the right half of which is faded.
