Dear Mr Wallace,
I have worked hard for the good of the cause. I have given Mr Broome1 séances with Herne2 & Williams,3 Mrs St. Claire,4 Mr Home5 & Kate Fox6— All very successful— His opinions are now quite different from what they were at the beginning and his article — now in type for the Times — will please all sensible spiritualists.7 The only bear now is whether Delane8 lets it go in as it is written— When it appears will be a good opportunity [2] for your letter to come slightly altered as if to make it appear called forth by the article. I return it to you for that purpose—
I am starting for Leamington tomorrow, for a week.
Believe me | Very truly yours | William Crookes [signature]
