Dear Sir

I am a subscriber to "Light" & much that I read in it interests me very deeply. I should like to know what works you recommend to read simple, holy and instructive[.]

Being a Mother & a Grand Mother I take a rather exalted view of things spiritual, tho not always perhaps acting up to [2] the ideal. Have you are correspondants [sic] Priests of the Church of Rome — would you mind telling me —

We believe very much in prayers for our dead, in the spiritual lives of the Saints – /. but some of us fear to lower the Celestial life of those gone before by communicating with them from this sphere. Personaly [sic] I believe our dead more or less in some instances watch over us help us & may with the Will of Our Father in Heaven, be at times made known to us —

but I could never see it except thro' prayer for their [illeg.] [3] Still I have had manifestations & seen much that was instructive & which I remember with joy — but these things are mostly locked up in one’s heart. I had a confessor who for years could not realize what I saw & thought they were delusions, but only the last time I saw him in confession he believed but was taken ill & hears confessions no more & this seemed a loss to me but GOD knows best. I would like to write more of extraordinary [4] events that have taken & are taking place but cannot by letter.

Trusting you will pardon these few lines[.]

Believe me | yours sincerely | Frances E Dinnen1 [signature]
