[1]1

November 9th 1908.

Dear Dr Wallace,

When my book "Psychic Philosophy"2 came out about ten years ago you were kind enough to introduce it to the public and give it the support of your approval and your name. I have often wished to make a personal acknowledgement of that kindness, but a very busy life has always kept from me the opportunity of a visit to Dorsetshire for the purpose.

The publishers have now asked me for a reprint and in issuing another edition I have felt bound to make a variety of alterations in the first and last three chapters. I trust these will not cause you to modify the kind words in which you expressed your approval of the first edition, and that you will still allow the Introductory Note to stand at the head of the work. There are so many persons who like myself would highly value your good opinion that I cannot but feel that a very strong wish that this may be the case.

Messrs Wm Rider & Son are the publishers, and Mr Ralph Shirley3 tells me will write to you himself and send the proofs, that you may see just what the alterations are.

With sincere thanks for your past kindness, | I am yours very truly | Stanley De Brath.4 [signature]
