An oval enclosing the letters "G.B.M." is stamped in very faint purple ink near the top of the page, partly covering the first line of the address.
"54" written in blue pencil in and unknown hand to the right of "Macmillan & Co."
Date "24 DEC 1908" stamped in purple ink below the handwritten number "54".
"6/-" inside a circle, written in red pencil in an unknown hand over the addressee, salutation and first paragraph.
"Receipt sent 24/12/08" written in black ink in an unknown hand beneath "Dear Sirs".
