Letter (WCP3621.3522)

[1]1

I have a little knowledge of penal systems so that my opinion is not worth much... It appears to me however that if indefinite detention is adopted under a system I am induced to think the system with detention under the iron rules of prison disciplines with a larger body of practicality Governors but under the direct orders of supervision of a Home Secretary will be a real advance. Prisoners too, should have the right of sending complaints, sealed and then M.P., clergyman out of the horrible rut of our present vile system of degrading and soul-crushing tyranny. Signed, Alfred R. Wallace.
