Birmingham

April 14th. []1

My dear Sir

I fear I have nothing of much interest that I have not already exhibited at previous soirees,— and as I am now staying at Hurstpierpoint I can not conveniently look over my Collections— If however when next in town I can think of anything suitable [2]2 I shall be most happy to let you have it.

Believe me | Yours very truly | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]

George Bentham Esq.

Need to established the date of this letter. (Possibly related to WCP2087.1977?)
A pencil annotation "author of Travels on the Amazon &c. [one illeg. word] Geolog[ica]l museum" is written in the lower right-hand corner of page 1.
