The following Paper, read before the Society, has been referred to you, viz. — Mr A R Wallace — "On the Rio Negro"2
I have to request that on or before the 25 June you will return the Paper, in a Sealed Packet, with a Report in writing, in which you will be pleased to state your opinion:-
1st, Whether the paper be Original?
2dly, Whether it should be printed in the Journal in the form, and with the Illustrations sent in by the Author?
3dly, Whether it can be altered or abridged with advantage; and IN WHAT MANNER?
4thly, Whether any, or what Illustrations, should accompany it in its new form?
