The following Paper has been referred to you, viz:-
"Account of the Arru Islands"1 by A. R. Wallace. —
I have to request that on or before the 28th inst[ant]2 you will return the Paper, in a Sealed Packet, with a Report in writing, in which you will be pleased to state your opinion: —
1st, Whether the Paper be ORIGINAL? Original & well written. Read before the Society.
2dly, Whether it should be printed in the Journal3? Or in the Proceedings4?
It is worthy of a place in the Proceedings.
3dly, Whether it can be altered or abridged with advantage; and IN WHAT MANNER? It is of moderate length & does not require abridge[men]t.
4thly, Whether any, and what Illustrations, should accompany it? The only illustration, if procurable, is a sketch map. The Dutch no doubt have one.
