Dear Sir,

I am trying to get together comparative statistics of various "floras," so far as phauerogous [?] are concerned, for a work I have now in hand. Mr Arthur W. Hill of Kew Gardens suggests that you may be able to give me such an estimate from the Malay Peninsula. If you can do [2]so I shall be much obliged. Any figures you may leave by you will do, if you also tell me what your view is for the proportion they hear to the probable number of the whole "flora".

Should you have any similar facts in any other part of the Tropical Asia (except British India). I shall be obliged. Also if you know of any limited area which has been well explored I [3] shall be very glad of the facts with regards to it. Do you know of the Americans have published any educate of the Philippines floras?

Yours very truly | Alfred W Wallace (signature)
