Dear Mr. Dyer1

Many thanks for the copy of Sir Joseph Hooker’s2 Botany of Kerguelen Island3.

I have a large piece of bark cloth from the Moluccas as beaten out from a tree, forming a cylindrical piece about 5 ft. long and 7ft.6in in circumference. Would it be any use to you for the Museum or have you plenty such? I have also a bamboo harp from Timor, which I would send if of any interest.

Yours faithfully | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
