Geo.[rge] Nicholson Esq.2, Curator of Kew Gardens.

D[ea]r. Sir

I enclose a few seeds of a new white-flowered spur-less Columbine from the mountains of S.E. Colorado just received from a friend who rode 50 miles to get the plant. I hope they will grow. It is found in a very shady place under rocks in [2] constantly damp ground & is said to flower very freely & to be sweet-scented.

Yours very truly | Alfred R. Wallace. [signature]
