My dear Sir
I have written to Mr Thiselton Dyer3 thanking him for the beautiful lot of plants received yesterday also thank you because I have no doubt it is to you I owe the selection of the plants, and they could hardly have been better chosen to please me. The himalayan Cathcartia & Meconopsis4, the Calceolaria5 fucliscoides[?] the Arimulas[?] and the Ericas6 [2] are especially acceptable, and I hope to be able to grow them all satisfactorily.
I return the empty Hamper as I presume you have use for it, and remain | Yours very faithfully | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
