H. N. Ridley Esq.3,

7, Cumberland Road,

Kew Gardens. Surrey.

Dear Sir

I have pleasure in returning you herewith the 9 letters and 3 postcards from Dr. Alfred Russel Wallace which you were kind enough to lend me with very many thanks.

I must apologise for having kept them so long; but owing to the number of letters received and a break-down in my own health, the copying and returning of letters has been unavoidably delayed.

With renewed thanks, | Yours faithfully, | James Marchant [signature]

There is a catalogue/reference number printed in the top right-hand corner of the page. It reads "64".
The letter is type-written in red ink.
