Many thanks for your kind offer to have the Biographical part of the Flora Brasas type-written & translated — which I gladly accept. I presume you mean the section referring to Spruce only.
I wish however to make a suggestion. Hemsley tells me that the price of this Fasc[imile] is 28/— about. Now, if at all well done, the whole of it would be of great interest to Botanists, and the articles on several other [2] collectors besides Spruce might be interesting for the readers of the Kew Bulletin.
Will you, therefore, purchase this Fasc[imile], & let me have the use of it? Then, I can have the parts that seem most interesting for my purpose, translated, & afterwards you could have it for reference, or to get a translation of the whole or greater part published, for which no doubt permission would be given. This would [3] suit me very much better than having it copied & translated at Kew (unless the whole were first copied in type-writing) as I think it probable that I should make use of extracts & facts from a considerable number of the articles.
If you agree to this, I will, to save you all trouble order it myself from Dulan or Williams & Norgate & have the Acc[oun]t. sent to you.

"Vitae itineraque collectorum botanicorum notae collaboratorum biographicae &c." — & that the articles vary from 1/4 page to several pages. More than 100 travellers are thus dealt with.
