October 28th 1915.

Sir W. T. Thiselton-Dyer. K.C.M.G.,

The Ferns

Witcombe. Gloucester.

My dear Sir,

I am engaged in editing the letters of the late Dr. Alfred Russel Wallace for the family and Mr. Wallace Junior has handed me the enclosed packet of letters from yourself.

I have not yet had time to read them carefully but I am sending them to you to ask you whether you would have any objection to our using them and in particular whether you could lend me Dr. Wallace's replies. I should be very much obliged by your kind help in this matter and I would return Dr. Wallace's letters promptly by registered post.

By the way, you will be interested to hear that the Wallace Medallion together with the medallions of Lister and Hooker are now being placed in the Abbey and that the Dean is to preach a sermon on Monday afternoon next at 3 o'c [2] in which he will make reference to the Medallions which will then be on view to the public.

Your faithfully,

Jas Manbank[?] [signature]

encls.
