Dear Prof.[essor] Geikie

Many thanks for your letter, & the kind commendation of my glacial chapters. From such an authority as yourself they are very acceptable. Could you add to your assistance by taking any opportunity that occurs to not bring them to the notice of geologists, as they are very likely to be overlooked in so miscellaneous a collection. It certainly seems to myself that [2] the cumulative argument in overwhelming, & the replies very weak & inconclusive.

I also think that the argument from the bottom contours of valley-lakes in glaciated regions is even a stronger argument, & more difficult to answer, than even the surface contours.

Again thanking you,

Believe me | Yours very truly | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
