May 6th 1915.

Dear Prof[essor]. Pearson,

I am engaged upon editing the Life and Letters of of the late Dr. Alfred Russel Wallace and I understand from Mr. Wallace Junr.1 that you have probably some of Dr. Wallace's letters amongst Sir Francis Galton's papers which I understand are in your possession. Is that so? And if so, would you be so good as to lend them to me for a short time for us in the biography?

I came across a few of Sir Francis Galton's letters to Dr. Wallace the other day and I am putting them together and as soon as I have gone through the whole of the letters I shall be very happy to send them to you for your perusal.

With kind thanks for your response.

Believe me to be, | Yours faithfully | J. Marchant [signature]
