Dear Sir:
Inasmuch as the volume (while containing a criticism by me of your occasional letters) leans[?] in large measure upon the lines identified with yr distinguished name and personality, including a brief reference to the question of the denudation of our national coal supplies: the Daily News review of yr latest book impels me to forward, even though late in the day, a slight contribution to the solution of the Social Problems of the time which I published on the verge of the General Election of 1895 under the title of "Socialism and [illeg.]". [2]
"Equality of Opportunity" is dealt with in the chapter beginning on p.114; a "Panorama of Problems" is [illeg.] on p.124; "The Vivification of the Village" is the main theme of the chapter opening on p.200; I wd particularly like yr views on The Future Relating of the Multitude towards the Machine (p.182) and "The Regulation of Production" (p.156).
Observations on yr part — either in the way of commendations, criticism, or even condemnation — I need scarcely add — will be esteemed a high honour.
Respectfully and Faithfully Yours
