Professor Alfred R. Wallace,

Dear Sir,

Last year while I was in Seattle, Washington, I sent you one of my books entitled "The Scribe of a Soul".1 I have been anxious to know if it was received by you and what your opinion of it was, but have heard nothing. I trust it was not lost.

As I explained, it was given out by me when I was almost wholly ignorant of what automatic writing really was, and my chief thought was to have a [2] novel different from other works. Now I understand that the real value of such writings consist in the theories advanced more than in mere tales of past existence. Since this knowledge was borne in upon my mind I have secured messages of quite different nature, "The Cradle of Humanity", "The Cell", the power that raized the Pyramids, How Christ applied Spiritual Law in his methods of healing. Many things about the planets and especially the Moon and the Sun and I have also enough matter for a book on Atlantis that I hope soon to see my way to [3] publishing.

Everything given me by the power or force, or soul called or calling him himself "Selestor"2 is written in the same majestic style employed in the messages contained in the book and the theories &c. seem to be perfectly consistent. Of course there are errors as it is very difficult to decipher after being written, coming in fast and with such force some of the words are scarcely formed.

Something the book sent has been received, and that you will very kindly spare me a few minutes of your valuable time to say what you think of "Selestor",

I am Respectfully | Clara Iza Price [illeg]. [signature]

Clara Von Ravn, The Scribe of a Soul (Seattle, WA: Denny-Coryell Co, 1901). It is in this book that Wallace had inserted this letter.
She would later write a book on Selestor and Atlantis entitled Selestor’s Men of Atlantis (1937).
