Dear Sir

I have the honor of enclosing you an author's copy of my Towards Utopia just published[.] The work will — I venture to think — enlist your hearty sympathy; and should you consider it calculated to do any educational service I am not without hope that you may see fit to review it in one of the leading journals — to the entree of all of which your name of course is a masterkey. You probably know well that without such an imprimatur or rather legatur the work of an unknown author is but little likely to do any good. Personally of course to make such a request to you would be to take an unwarrantable liberty; but if you approve of my programme you will, I hope, not so consider it[.] I enclose you also a copy of my Cry of the Children published some time ago.

Believe me | yours faithfully | A. FreeLance [signature]
