My dear Mr. Cockerell1

Many thanks for your two last letters2 & their valuable enclosures. The Extt on Red Clay of Bermuda is all I want, — also about I. of Man Lepidoptera & Celebes birds. Of Borneo Birds I only want list of the peculiar ‘species’.

I have not done anything to Island Life3 for the last few days as I am writing a review of Morgan’s4 book & discussing some controverted point. Your slug paper is interesting, — & will be [2] useful for "Darwinism".5 —

The Extract about B. Shaw6 is excellent & made us laugh.
