Parkstone, Dorset
June 4th 1891
My dear Mr. Cockerell,
I have ordered Browning to send you a pocket Aneroid which I beg you to accept as a small recognition of the valuable assistance you have given me in "Island Life ". I hope it may be useful to you in your wanderings among the Jamaican & other mountains [2] and enable you to record the vertical distribution of snails & slugs in the West Indies.
Hoping to see you & your wife here or at Corfe (or Swanage).
Believe me | Yours very faithfully | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
