I have thought of two or three alterations in the candle lamp. 1. The top of the candle-holder may be flat, not curved as in 1st sketch…. Your idea of the short wick will I think do well to try first…. I think it will be much better to have the central tube moveable and slightly loose as it will then adjust itself to the candle if they should happen to be at all irregular.
