Rosehill, Dorking.
Decr. 26th. 1876
My dear Sir1
Mrs. De Morgan’s2 address is 8 Cheyne Row, Chelsea. My account of Mr. Barkas’3 lecture is a newspaper cutting from the "Newcastle Daily Journal" May 5th. 1875. but it would probably be given also in the "Medium" of the following week.
I heard from Mr. Sidgwick4 a few weeks ago. He says he has the most perfect confidence in the honesty of mediums from Newcastle, but there are some tests not yet obtained which he thinks necessary before making the facts public. He seemed very positive confident however that these tests would be ultimately [2] obtained, & assured me he did not mean to give up the enquiry, and that as soon as the required tests were obtained he would publish the results. If you could see him or Lord Rayleigh5 I have no doubt you would hear many interesting particulars.
I should very much like to see your lady medium, & when warmer weather comes in the spring I shall hope to have that pleasure.
Believe me | yours very faithfully | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]

[3] You will see Dr. Carpenter’s6 weak reply in this morning’s "Daily News" to which I have sent a short rejoinder.7A.R.W.
