My dear Poulton

I have just come across the enclosed scrap of your notes about localities1, which seems to have been separated from the other piece, & now suddenly fell out of a book, as if from the skies!

I have put on it the names of Collectors — & dates roughly. Only Tondano & Tidore were collected by self.

The only news from Birch yet is, that they sailed from Bahia by a coasting steamer from Caravelhos [2] whence there is a railroad up into a little known part of Minas Geraes — which runs a train twice a week! Its destination is Philadelphia — otherwise Theophilo Ottoni — but they may stay on the way if they see a good-looking Collecting ground.

Shall hear probably in a few days (or weeks) where they are settled.

Yours very truly| Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
