Frith Hill, Godalming.
Decr. 12th. 1882
Dear Mr Meldola
Yours of Oct[ober] 31 has been so long unreplied to because I was expecting weekly to have to come up to town for a night. Now, I have received & read your article in the "Annals" which will I hope call attention to this interesting question. You have put the case very clearly & have, at all events, quite disposed of Mr Distant[‘]s hazy objections. We must wait now for Fritz Müller’s facts.
[2] If the weather is not too terrible I have to come to London on Friday for a meeting of L[and] N[ationalisation] S[ociety] at 5 pm. & having some other business preparatory to discuss sh[oul]d like to stay the night if you can accommodate me.
You need not write unless to say you cannot. I shall probably call with my bag early, as I shall not be in till perhaps 7 or 8 after our meeting.
Yours very truly| Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
