Frith Hill, Godalming,
July 28th 1885
My dear Meldola
We have been & are still in a state of uncertainty as to our movements this Autumn not having yet let our house, but having had a nibble may catch our fish this week. If we do not let perhaps I, <&> Willie, may go for a week or two’s excursion somewhere & would be very glad of your company. Can you come here from Saturday to Monday, as we shall then know our fate & can arrange something.
Yours faithfully| Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
