My dear Meldola

I send you the tickets for the Zoo[logical Gardens] next Sunday and also a couple of spare tickets in case your mother would like to go with you.

We had a pleasant week at Hurst[pierpoint] & some roamings over the fine chalk downs.

Two Convolvulus Hawks1 were caught here, but Willie did not get any. But Mr Mitten sent him a D. celeris2! In fine order with which he was much pleased.

I suppose you climbed some [2] of the Grampian heights & got a few rare moths there. The Meeting seems to have been a very successful one. I think we shall be able to manage to attend the Fungus Meeting of your Club this year.

Yours very faithfully| Alfred R. Wallace [signature]

Convolvulus hawk-moths.
Deilephila celeris (old name) for a hawk moth, probably the silver-striped hawk moth Hippotion celerio.
