My dear Meldola
We shall be very glad to have you & your wife here from Friday to Monday (Sept[ember] 28th — ) as you propose. Let us know by what train we may expect you.
Can you obtain for me a set of the Examination papers (or most of them) for the College Entrance Examination, as Willie’s [2] Mathematical Master wants to see them in order to know what kind of work is required, as he is going to give him special teaching this year in Mathematics in which he is very backward. My present intention is that he shall enter the College — in the Mechanical Engineering Department — this time next year. I hope you will be able to tell me that [3] the translation of Weismann’s papers will soon be out.
The weather seems now trying to make up for lost time — but that is impossible!
Yours very faithfully| Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
