My dear Meldola
Many thanks for weighing the seeds. The making use of your extract about deceived[?] butterflies there appears to be a curious mistake — in 10th line sh[oul]d not "white Pieridae" — be "white Ithomias" — Yet Boisduval gives Lep[talis] Melite as being Black, yel[low] & orange. I cannot make sense of it as it stands so return it for correction.
I am going to Manchester on Tuesday 20th and want to [2] come up on Monday to see Macmillan about book, & shall be glad of a bed that night if quite convenient to Mrs. Meldola.
Thistleton Dyer1 [sic] gave it to Romanes rather warm!
Yours faithfully| Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
[3] P.S. Have you the "Annals & Mag[azine of] Nat[ural] Hist[ory]" for 1884. If so can you lend me the vol[ume] or no. containing p.200.
