My dear Meldola1
I enclose card of an Exhibition of Butterflies preserved & displayed on a new method by a gentleman I met in America, son2 of Prof. Denton3 a geological lecturer & very clever man. Will you go & see it some day & make it known.
When we last heard from Will4 he was bicycling across the continent somewhere on the prairies between Chicago & Denver.
Yours very truly| Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
Denton had four sons. Sherman Foote (1856-1937), Shelley
Wright (1859-1938) (who did lithography work for Wallace’s old friend William Henry Edwards), William Dixon (1865–1923) and Robert Winsford (1866–1959). (Smith, 2013)
