St. Peter’s Rd., Croydon.

March 2th. 1881

Dear McLachlan1

The badly made (J) on insect tickets means Gilolo or Jilolo, — they were collected by my assistant Charles Allen2 in North Gilolo. (N.) in same writing is New Guinea, (M) Mysol. I always put (Ter.) for Ternate (Tim) for Timor. If there are any (F.) they would be Flores. (Gil.) are those collected by myself in Central & South Gilolo.

Yours faithfully| Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
