Yours letters of the 1st & 16th of December we received last week. I am waiting until I hear definitely from Rio which I hope to do tomorrow before replying to them, so that I can tell you more surely what we shall do. I know A. M. Moss very well. He was a member of the Lanc. & Chesire Ent. Soc. for a year or two before I left home. I visited him at his diggings in Birkenhead & saw his collection & his paintings & spent a very pleasant time with him. Doesn’t he mention his precious acquaintance with me? I will explain about the Butlers in my next. I don’t know how it is I have always forgotten to do this hitherto. As no new ajes[?] have come I suppose you have stopped taking it.
It certainly is not worth 3 d.
Yours sincerely | Fred. Birch. [signature]
I sh[oul]d be very glad & thankful to you however if you will send me "Intensive Agriculture." published from the "Clarion" office price 3 d. It will be worth a score of N As to me, I think.
