Dear Sir

About nine years ago you were so good as to revise for me the List of Coleoptera supposed to be peculiar to the British Isles ^{which appeared in my} Island Life. I write to ask you if you think there are sufficient materials now, for a more accurate list, and if so whether there is any one besides yourself to whom I could apply, as I fear your occupations are too pressing [2] to undertake it yourself.

It would be rather a relief to me to hear that there is no sufficient amount of new facts to render any alteration needful, but of course I should like to make the list as accurate as possible if there is available material.

My publishers have asked me for corrections for a new issue as soon as I can let them have them.
