Revd. Canon Fowler

Dear Sir

About nine years ago you were so good as to revise for me the List of Coleoptera supposed to be peculiar to the British Isles which appeared in my Island Life. I write to ask you if you think there are sufficient materials now, for a more accurate list, and if so whether there is any one besides yourself to whom I could apply, as I fear your occupations are too pressing [2] to undertake it yourself.

It would be rather a relief to me to hear that there is no sufficient amount of new facts to render any alteration needful, but of course I should like to make the list as accurate as possible if there is available material.

My publishers have asked me for corrections for a new issue as soon as I can let them have them.

Believe me| Yours very truly| Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
