Dear Miss Zimmerman
The enclosed lecture I came upon yesterday and read it through again with intense interest. It seems to me to be far in advance of everything even English advanced liberals have aimed at and so full of profound wisdom and insight, as to make me feel that all the usual "reforms" advocated are mere peddling leaving all the real evils of our political organization[sic] untouched.
Keep it as long as you like but return it some day.
Yours very faithfully | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
Almost everything I have read of Prof. Newmans shows me that he is one of the wisest if not the very wisest man politically now living.
