I am sorry that I cannot read or write German but a friend has translated your letter. I thanks you your kind congratulations and compliments[.] Also for the very beautiful volume of your travels through Java to the Moluccas and to the Ké and Aru Islands.

I see that Dobbo is now turned into a quite civilized [2]1 town; but most of the other places seem not much changed.
