If you remember I thanked you [2] for the delight I had received in reading your "Amazon" & you advised me to read The Malay Archipelago", this I have done with much profit & pleasure, but the "Amazon" holds first place & I am now going through it for the fifth time & your portrait from "Daily News & Leader" is now added & my children are so delighted as their [3] Dad in its perusal.
