My Dear Sir,
I wrote you, some six weeks ago, that Dr Alfred Russell[sic] Wallace, the distinguished Naturalist, was coming to this country next fall— that he would give eight lectures in the Lowell Institute of this city and that, by contract with him, all his lecture engagements except those above-named, for the entire country would be made [2] by me. Having heard nothing from you, I write again to enquire whether you would like to secure him for your University. His lectures will begin the very first of November. He will give two each week Mondays & Thursdays. As I am now making dates for him, I would be much obliged if you would inform me if you would like him. I heard that you employ such eminent lectures in your University.
Yours very truly | B. W. Williams [signature]
