Dear Sir
Your limit for corrections in "The Wonderful Century"3 [1 word illeg.] the Agreement is £6 equivalent to 120 hours — In "Vaccination"4 it was £2 equivalent to 40 hours. Of course if you introduce new matter in paged proofs except where there are blank spaces it entails over-running and the cost soon mounts up — We will send the proofs flat in future.5
As regards the binding we shall match the cloth of "Island Life"6 and use the block you have selected with the additional dates to give it a [2] special character. We cannot send you a specimen of the actual binding until the book is printed as the blocks for the back have to be cut according to the thickness of the book.
Yours very truly | HW [signature in initials]
