To Dr A R Wallace. OM FRS

Sir.

I am very interested in the interview with you in yesterdays Daily News.1

I note you are reported as having said, "During the last century wealth has been accumulating at one end of our amazing humanity and poverty at the other."

I suppose there is a cause for any phenomenon and that if this was found the effect [2] would not be amazing,

May it not be dangerous to tamper with the effect when the nature & magnitude of the producing cause or causes are so little understood that their effect appears amazing & would not the right line of attack be to investigate the causes instead of levelling up the effect?

I hope you can give me your kindly help with my difficulty for I am greatly interested in preventing poverty.

Yours faithfully.| E. Pickworth-Farrow.2 [signature] | (B.Sc. Lond.)
