Dr. A. Russel Wallace has written of Mr. Burton's "Story of the Vaccination Crusade in Hackney":— "It is most excellently done, and brings out the horrible cruelty and injustice both of the whole of the Vaccination Laws and of our whole legal system, which punishes the poor (by fines) a thousand times as much as the rich, and absolutely denies justice to all who have not wealth."
