My dear Prof. Agassiz¹

Many thanks for your kindness in sending me more photographs of the Geog.[ologica]^l. rooms in the Harvard Museum. I shall be able to use one of them in my book, in addition to the three already prepared.

I am afraid my memory is at fault, but my impression is, that when you showed me over the Museum in 1886 these rooms were not so filled up with cases as the photos. show them to be now, & that a more general view of the each room was then to be had. But perhaps I am mistaken, & [2] it was the novelty of the representation of Geographical Distribution of Animals in a Museum, that so pleased me.

I should like to know whether the Palaeontological Rooms are now completed, and also if you have any popular guide, or any recent Report that would give me an account of the present condition of the Museum as a whole.

I shall be very much interested in your Coral Reef explorations.
