Dear Sir,—I have just read with much pleasure your very excellent article in the Clarion with the title, "Our Black Brother." It represents the teachings of good science, as well as sound morality. I therefore venture to call your attention to an article of mine in the current "Independent Review," entitled, "The Native Problem in South Africa and Elsewhere," in which I try to point out a rational mode of governing and treating natives in our various Colonies and Dependencies, which, while not too advanced for current public opinion in the Colonies, yet serves as an introduction to a more just and humane, as well as more politic, mode of treatment than that hitherto adopted.—Yours very truly,
