Re Mr. Tilney's allegation that Alfred Russel Wallace, since the publication of his manifesto on spiritualism in 1875, has written "much of opposite import," Mr. T. C. Dawson writes:

I am in the habit of proving all things, so I have been in correspondence with Alfred Russel Wallace, and I sent him Mr. Tilney's assertion.

He replies that the statement is "ABSOLUTELY and entirely FALSE," and he is about to republish the book, by Messrs. Nichols & Co. "I adhere to every statement in the book," are his closing words.

Your readers may judge from this how much Mr. Tilney is to be relied upon.

Editor Charles H. Smith's Note: A short note including brief quotes from Wallace printed on page 3 of the 15 January 1904 issue of The Sentinel (Wood Green, etc., England).
