My Dear Mrs. Wallace
I have thought of you this Christmas & often wondered how you are, I do hope better & able to get about again it must be such a trial not to be able to walk, I don't know what I should do. We saw in the "Standard" the request of Mr. James Merchant for letter, & before Christmas a week or 2 weeks? ago Liz wrote enclosing a portrait like these also the letter about them from [2] Dr. Wallace, I think he said he liked these better than professional ones — she has never heard whether Mr Marchant has received them, I have over 40 letters — most — interesting I think about plants and gardening, but perhaps I had better not send so many, just the most interesting. I waited till the Christmas traffic was over before sending these to you or my letter to Mr Marchant, Liz has the plate & got a chemist here to print these, she has no appliances now for doing them herself. I hope Violet & Will are both better,
With love to you all | Yours affec[tionately] [1 word illeg.] Mary Evans [signature]
