[1] [p. 515]

From Alfred Russel Wallace: "I have long been an admirer of Mr. Hyndman's long and continuous work for Socialism. When I was in the outer darkness of individualism [p. 516] with Mill and Spencer, he [Hyndman] tried to convert me by letter, but I never had the pleasure of meeting him. I wish I could dine with him, but he had not really 'dined' (in the gastronomic sense) this twenty years or more. I was first and once for all converted to Socialism by Bellamy's convincing works. With best wishes for Mr. Hyndman's health for many years to come, and that he will specially enjoy this dinner with his friends and admirers."
